Creative Ireland is delighted to support The Big Idea, a project that champions innovative thinking and problem solving for our young people. We hope that The Big Idea will provide a catalyst for innovation that Transition Students will carry through to support their creative lives and future career choices.
The B!G Idea is an exciting new education initiative that aims to put creative thinking at the centre of Ireland’s second level education system. Our programme has harnessed the talents of some of the world’s most successful industry professionals to work directly with Transition Year students to give them the skills to seek solutions to life’s challenges by igniting their own creativity. The programme is supported by the Creative Ireland programme with additional support from key industry partners. Check out the video of our Transition Year student briefs for 2022.
Look around, we exist in a world where the biggest issues the world has ever seen are waiting for the next generation. The world has never been so technologically advanced but there is still life and world-impacting challenges that affect us daily. Innovative solutions are now needed more than ever, and what drives innovation? Creativity.
Through our programme, students will gain critical creative skills that will stay with them forever. This learning will raise their confidence to take on big challenges they will ultimately face in life. We will connect them with nearly 400 industry experts who will advise and guide them. Did we mention the Swag Bag? Each student receives all the equipment they need in our custom Swag Bag!
We have created learning Transition Year (TY) resources for 16 weeks, digitally formatted with two lessons per week. It can be used directly from the cloud or downloaded in your preferred format. The adaptable format can be used for either a 40-minute class or a 1-hour class with teacher prompts and lesson plans included. With built-in assessment structures and additional class materials, we have you covered.
Developed by creative experts with decades of experience in the sector, our awarding TY programme can be facilitated by teachers from any background. The fully cross-curricular nature of the programme allows for all learning abilities to gain new skills, interact with industry leaders, connect learning from other subjects and gain confidence in tackling the biggest challenges in the world.
Sign your life away (just kidding), sign up to hear the B!G announcements and learn about all our B!G prizes.
