What problems are you addressing? We are discussing mental health issues linked to social media, school and body image. Why it is important? By normalising the conversation around mental and shame healthy, we help teenagers navigate the complexities of their emotional world and equip them with the tools they need to manage challenges in a healthy way. How does it impact people? Body image can have a profound impact on teens especially during the adolescent years when they are navigating significant physical, emotional and social change. Mental and Emotional Health Low self-esteem: teens who struggle with negative body image have low self-esteem. They may feel unattractive, which can lead to saddens and shame or self doubt. Depression and Anxiety Negative body image is strongly linked to mental health issues like depression, anxiety, and stress. Teens who are unhappy with their appetence may feel isolated. What makes this problem worth solving? Mental health in teenagers is worth solving because it protects young lives, strengthens their futures , and builds healthier, more resilient society.
