The slogan we have come up with is- Building futures, breaking barriers we want to bring to light all the problems and struggles of poverty, and hopefully come up with a solution.)

Witness statement
(A lot of poverty and homelessness has come from the massive impact COVID has had on people. A lot of businesses had to meet cuts because everyone was isolating and there were no customers or factories and other businesses had to close temporarily and people were put out of jobs). (One example of this is Dorcas' case, she is a mother in the UK and was let go from her job due to the company needing to cut costs to stay alive. Another general witness statement comes from J.D. Vance, author of Hillbilly Elegy, commented on the lower life expectancy in some parts of Kentucky compared to nearby Virginia, linking it to poor eating and exercise habits.)

Backstory- he worked in an office that handled techsport for laptops. The company that he works for had to cut costs and decided to let him go. He was bad at saving money and regularly went out with his friends and he would spend a lot on his ‘nights out’. So with no steady income and no savings, he struggled to find a new job and he very quickly was unable to keep up with payments, he went into debt and his mortgage was pulled and they took his house. And to pay back some of the debt he was in he sold his car to cover payments. He then had no other course but to turn to living on the streets.
